Finally, an honest lawyer in DC: This furloughed IRS lawyer has a new side gig: running a hot dog stand
"Hundreds of thousands of federal workers have been sent home amid the government shutdown. One of them has been using his newfound free time to sell hot dogs."
Guess I know where I'll be going for lunch soon!

Shoots of Resistance
It's not much, but I saw a "50501" sticker today in a restroom in the Pentagon. Resistance is everywhere, I suppose.
My friend's wife passed away today.
I'm sad for him. She had had MS for a very long time. They welcomed their first grandchild on New Year's Day. Life sucks sometimes. As Warren Zevon said, enjoy every sandwich.
What's a good Canadian news outlet for online?
I cancelled my subscription to The Washington Post and would like to replace it with something from Canada. I still get the New York Times and the Times of London but looking for something else in North America.
Thanks in advance!
OPM operating status for Washington, DC for tomorrow
https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/snow-dismissal-procedures/current-status/I've never seen a "suggested" 2-hour delay, but since they now say we're all doing critical work across the government, I guess I'll go in. Probably on time, so I don't get added to the list of deferred resigners. Sigh......

Please don't make any decision in haste on something this momentous!
Federal employees:

One good thing about tonight
We wont have to hear anymore bullshit about the election having been stolen.
